Introduction to AIBO

Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), Ministry of Commerce, is an educational and training institution directly under the Ministry of Commerce, People’s Republic of China.

AIBO, established in 1980, covers an area of more than 500 mu (about 34 hectares) by the Wenyu River, Changping District, North of Beijing. The total floor area of AIBO is about 140,000 square meters. Its main business scopes and services include:

1. Cooperation in Human Resources Development

Cooperation in Human Resources Development is an important part of China's International Development Cooperation. As the general base of the Cooperation in Human Resources Development, AIBO undertakes the comprehensive coordination, management and part of implementation of Programs of the Cooperation in Human Resources Development under the leadership of the Ministry of Commerce and China International Development Cooperation Agency. Guided by the concept that“it is more helpful to teach people how to fish than just to give them fish”, China shares development experience and practical technologies with other developing countries through foreign assistance training programs, overseas volunteer programs, etc., to help recipient countries cultivate talents and enhance the capacity in pursuing independent and sustainable development.

2. Party School Training

Located in AIBO, the Party School of the Ministry of Commerce provides two or three-month in-service courses recruited in spring and autumn every year to division-level officials of Party members of the Ministry of Commerce and its affiliated institutions. The Party School operates in accordance with the ISO9001 Quality Management System and has successively been awarded the honorary titles of "Advanced Party School" and "Advanced Unit in Teaching Management" by the Party School of the Central Committee of C.P.C and its branch schools of Central Government Departments.

3. Business Training

The business training of AIBO focuses on providing talent support and intellectual guarantee for the reform and development of business undertakings. AIBO undertakes all kinds of training tasks assigned by the Ministry of Commerce. At the same time, AIBO carries out extensive training exchange and cooperation, and provides professional training services on the key business work and hot issues for government agencies, enterprises and institutions at all levels.

4. Conference Services

Established on the basis of the former Training Center of International Trade for Asia-Pacific Regions in 2008, AIBO's conference facilities are in accordance with a four-star standard by China International Trade Property Hotel Management Co., Ltd. With a pleasant environment and complete facilities, AIBO has 23 meeting rooms, including an international lecture hall, which can accommodate up to 400 people. It also has more than 400 guest rooms of various types. It can provide Chinese and Western food services for 600 people at the same time, as well as training and conference services for 1,000 people. The Sports Center of AIBO has a gymnasium, karaoke hall, billiards room, indoor swimming pool and characteristic hot spring pool, as well as outdoor plastic track-and-field ground, basketball court, tennis court and other sports facilities. AIBO has passed the ISO9001 Quality Management System Certification and the ISO14001 Environmental Management System Certification and is a designated conference venue for the central Party and government organs and the Beijing municipality as well.
