SUN Zhonghe, male, Han ethnicity, member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), is from Dandong City, Liaoning Province. He holds a Doctor of Management degree.

SUN worked in the General Office, and then became Deputy Director and an analyst in the Research Office of the Liaoning Provincial Government. He served as Director of the Policy Research Department of the Ministry of Commerce, (MOFCOM), mainly engaged in strategic and policy research on open economy development of domestic and international trade, two-way investment, and bilateral and multilateral economic and trade cooperation. He has published dozens of papers. In December 2010, SUN was appointed Special Deputy Commissioner and the CPC Committee Secretary of the Special Commissioner’s Office in Fuzhou (Xiamen), MOFCOM. He served in October 2015 as Deputy Director General of the Policy Research Department, MOFCOM. SUN took office in November 2020 as President and the CPC Committee Secretary of the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) (also known as the Training Center), MOFCOM.
