AIBO Held the Opening Ceremony of China’s First Foreign-aid Offline Seminar in Three Years Since the Pandemic

On the morning of February 22, the Academy for International Business Officials, MOFCOM, held the joint opening ceremony for the first five offline seminars in the past three years of COVID-19. SUN Zhonghe, President of the Academy for International Business Officials, MOFCOM, attended the joint opening ceremony and delivered a speech. ZHANG Yi, Deputy Director General of the China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE), Ministry of Commerce, and representatives Milica Milidrag, Serb Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Evandro Menezes de Carvalho, Professor of International Law and Head of the Center for Brazil-China Studies at Getulio Vargas Foundation School of Law (FGV Direito Rio) in Rio de Janeiro, Pizwak Imtiaz, from the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety, Pakistan, LUKA DUT DENGAffairsDirector for Political affairs, Mobilization and Organization SPLM national secretariats, and Ximenes Averio Joao, from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Media, Timor-Leste also delivered speeches respectively.

The five seminars include the Seminar on China's Poverty Alleviation Practices under the Global Development Initiative, the Seminar on the Relevance of China's Reform and Opening-up Practices for Developing Countries, the Seminar on Cross-border E-commerce for Developing Countries, the Seminar on Trade Promotion for Developing Countries, and the Seminar on International Development Assistance for Developing Countries and delivered a speech. All these five seminars are sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and organized by the Academy for International Business Officials, MOFCOM. 194 officials from 27 countries took part in these five seminars. This is the first time to launch offline seminars in the three years since the pandemic, which demonstrates AIBO’s leading role as the general base of China’s international cooperation in human resources development. It can also inject momentum to boost the morale of national foreign aid training contractors.

In the next two weeks, AIBO will invite Chinese government officials, experts, and scholars in relevant fields to discuss and exchange views with officials on topics such as international development assistance, cross-border e-commerce, trade promotion, poverty reduction, reform and opening up, and organize study tours to Fuzhou in Fujian Province and Haikou in Hainan Province respectively.
